LUNCH AT ALLEN’S – CONCERTS FOR JAKE
Two Concerts and Online Auction to Help Musician’s Son
LUNCH AT ALLEN’S
Lunch At Allen’s is Murray McLauchlan, Cindy Church, Marc Jordan and Ian Thomas. As individuals, they have written for or sung on over 25,000,000 CDs, penning hits for Chicago, Josh Groban, Bonnie Raitt, America, Santana, Cher and Rod Stewart, including Murray’s Farmers Song, Marc’s Marina Del Rey and Ian’s Painted Ladies. These three artists have come together adding the incredible vocal talents of Cindy Church (Quartette, Great Western Orchestra) to form Lunch At Allen’s. From The Beat Magazine, “You would be hard pressed to find another Canadian ensemble with more collective depth of influence over Canada’s musical landscape than Lunch At Allen’s.” Attending their stage show is to embark on a musical journey replete with laughter and personal anecdotes, familiar favourites and new material, fashioning an unforgettable evening’s entertainment … from their hearts … direct to your soul.
JAKE & LUNCH AT ALLEN’S
On January 7, 2017, Jake Thomas was severely injured in a catastrophic accident, leaving him a paraplegic. Jake is Ian’s son, a father of four and a filmmaker. Due to his expertise in the integration of film and music, Jake was the obvious choice to direct and edit the debut Lunch At Allen’s Live DVD for EMI Music Canada and, needless to say, he knocked it out of the park! Of course Jake was then asked to do the same with two additional Lunch At Allen’s videos … Perfect World and What Kind Of Love. After decades of friendship and 14 years of criss-crossing the country on concert tours together, there is no question that a love for one another runs deep in the Lunch At Allen’s group. Within days of the accident, Murray, Marc and Cindy were talking about what they could do to help Jake and family with the financial challenges that lay ahead … and so began the idea for these concerts. Jake is not only a creative colleague, but a son to us all. He is one of ours.
JAKE & ONLINE SILENT AUCTION and SPONSORSHIP
Running from April 29 to May 15, the online silent auction straddles the timelines of both concerts, and provides an opportunity to help regardless of geographic location. All monies raised will be used to help retrofit the family home and vehicles, to purchase the necessary mobility devices, and to afford Jake as much comfort as possible in his day-to-day living.
