BURLINGTON, ON – The 2014/2015 Season at The Burlington Performing Arts Centre includes performers such as Jim Cuddy (of Blue Rodeo), Jann Arden, comedian Shaun Majumder, Chantal Kreviazuk, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Toronto Dance Theatre and many more. This is The Centre’s fourth season, and the first programmed by Executive Director Brian McCurdy. The season is divided into 16 Series including Comedy, Family, Blues & Rock, Jazz, Dance, Classical, and more. Patrons have the option to purchase an entire series to receive a discounted price; or they can create their own series and save by picking any four or more shows from the 2014/2015 Presenting Season.
The Centre is pleased to announce two new additions this season. The first is the Royal Opera House Cinema Series, where patrons are invited to relax in the Main Theatre and enjoy a screening of an opera at a price range of $14-$19 +HST. The operas include Puccini’s Turandot, Bizet’s Carmen, Puccini’s La bohème, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Verdi’s Nabucco, and Puccini’s Tosca. The second addition is the Marvels Series. This series features full length performances perfect for families of all ages. Performances include Outerbridge – Clockwork Mysteries, Famous PEOPLE Players: Good Old Rock and Roll, the National Chinese Acrobats, and Cirque Mechanics: Pedal Punk.
