The new Performing Arts Centre will be ready for an audience in 2011. This wonderful new facility is going to provide a venue for the community to see and hear world-class performers. It is also going to enable us to see local area performers of all ages in a professional setting.

THE KEYS TO THE FUTURE

What the Performing Arts Centre really needs is a grand piano for these performers to use. The “Keys to the Future” committee is launching a campaign to purchase a 9-foot grand piano by selling keys to the public. Each key will cost $500.

The target date for purchasing the piano is July of 2011 and our target amount is $100,000. Pianos have 88 keys, and purchasing all the keys will raise roughly $44,000. We are very happy to announce that a donor has come forward who promises to match all donations made to the “Keys to the Future” campaign.

YOUR DONATION WILL BE MATCHED

The City of Burlington will provide tax-deductible receipts for all donations over $25.00 and anyone buying a key will be recognized in the new Performing Arts Centre.

Who among us does not play the piano or know someone who plays the piano? Why not consider a donation in the name of a favourite music teacher or a family member who loves music? Students of a special teacher may want to join together to purchase a key in honour of their teacher or conductor. You
may want to buy 2 keys, and you can spread your donation over 2 years in 2 installments of $500 each.
