Message From The Executive Director

Brian McCurdy at the Burlington Performing Arts CentreI know that it will come as a surprise to many that the 2014/15 Season is the fourth season of performing arts programming at The Burlington Performing Arts Centre, and my first as Executive Director. You will see both continuity with past programming and some new directions.

Burlington is blessed with many excellent performers and performing arts organizations. The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is launching a new initiative in partnership with three outstanding local professional theatre companies, Tottering Biped Theatre, Nortesur, and KooGle Theatre Company, together with a regional theatre company, MT Space, as well as two Toronto based companies, to present a fully professional theatre series in our intimate Community Studio Theatre. This is our opportunity to support the development of a strong regional theatre scene with Burlington at the center of our offerings.

Additionally we have provided the opportunity to other community based performing arts organizations to be part of our 2014/15 season brochure. It is our mission to support the growth of local performing arts organizations and help them build on their initial successes in our theatres.

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre Presenting Season covers the full gamut of arts and entertainment. New for the 2014/15 Season is a Comedy series; Marvels, a series of full length shows suitable for the entire family; as well as expanded classical, jazz, dance and world and pop music series. I am especially proud of the many outstanding Canadian performers we have in our season covering everything from pop music to the classics.

Message From The Board

The Board of Directors of your Burlington Performing Arts Centre is very excited about our Presenting Series for the 2014-2015 Season.

Our offerings for 2014-2015 are considerably greater in number than past seasons, and we can assure you they include a variety of shows, appealing to all tastes. We look forward to seeing our old friends return, and to introducing ourselves to new ones. Join us for experiences that inspire!

Again this year, a national magazine ranked Burlington as the best City in Canada in which to live in its size bracket. We know that The Burlington Performing Arts Centre plays a big part in Burlington’s growing reputation.

Our performers continue to rave about their experiences here; the sound they create in our halls as well as the support they receive from our technical and front of house crews, and the reception they receive from you, our audiences. Before they depart the stage, they can’t wait to come back! We hope the same holds true for you.
