BURLINGTON, Ont. – Graham Frampton, Manager of Operations and Facility Sales at The Burlington Performing Arts Centre, invited all of Burlington today to an unprecedented gathering of Burlington’s finest dance and theatre companies.
The Burlington Performing Arts Showcase, a one-night spectacle on Saturday, October 29 in The Centre’s Main Theatre, is the culmination of months of planning and rehearsal for 13 local performing arts companies. The groups coming together for Showcase are: Centre Stage Company, Theatre Burlington, Student Theatre Burlington, Drury Lane Theatre, Burlington Footnotes, KooGle Theatre Company, McCarthy School of Dance, Burlington Dance Academy, Aspects of Dance, Burlington School of Classical Ballet, Burlington Dance Company, The Turning Pointe and Stars Academy for Performing Arts.
“This performance is unparalleled in Burlington’s performing arts history,” said Frampton. “The Showcase is the first of its kind – but I can guarantee it will not be the last.”
The Burlington Performing Arts Centre’s Executive Director, Brenda Heatherington, has often emphasized the organization’s goal of becoming a community hub for all of Burlington.
“Before now, the gathering of such an exceptional group of companies could not have happened in Burlington,” said Heatherington. “The opening of this world-class performing arts centre is changing the landscape of the Burlington arts scene and, as it does, it is opening a multitude of doors for local performers and lovers of the performing arts, alike.”
