Message from the Executive Director
This is a year of milestones for The Burlington Performing Arts Centre. As we head into the second half of this auspicious season, our continuing goal is to present “Experiences that Inspire”, which is both our theme and inspiration for this season. We can’t wait to share some of these phenomenal performances with you. We’re just getting started!
Come in out of the January cold to see some of the best in classical, gospel, jazz and folk-inspired music. Adam Gyorgy will delight audiences with an awe-inspiring program of classical works. Mavis Staples, celebrated founder of The Staple Singers as well as 2011 GRAMMY® AWARD winner, performs some of the best gospel R&B. Alexander Sevastian is a virtuoso with a lightning-fast mastery of the accordion’s rich and multi-layered sound.
The Centre celebrates drama, adventure, romance and pop music in February. The Last 15 Seconds is an unforgettable piece of theatre that uses dance, video and vocalization to explore the topic of terrorism. Based on the ancient Greek myth, Jason and the Argonauts is an engaging visual phenomenon. Vocal Jazz sensation Jill Barber wraps The Centre in romance with a special Valentine’s Day performance and Ash Koley offers up their quirky charm and upbeat pop music.
Sincerely,
Brenda Heatherington
